Kitchener Steven Robertson

Kitchener Robertson died while serving with the SAS. Exactly what happened is not fully known, but he had just driven through German lines with other members of Operation Kipling, in order to join up with Operation Houndsworth. They had been flown to Orleans and drove from there. The SAS Signals log for the period records a request for him to return through German lines with a jeep on the morning of 17 Sep 1944. A later signal records his death in a jeep accident. He was buried in the Benoist D’Azy family tomb in Benin-d’Azy Communal Cemetery. On 9 Oct 1950, the Comminwealth War Graves Commission moved his remains to Choloy War Cemetery 1A C 14.
