Ronald married a local girl, Nellie Chessell, (born 1902 IoW), in 1942. The couple settled in Winchester in later life.
According to Walter Marchant he was said to be sole survivor of the unit, after the others were all dropped into France and killed in action. Not entirely accurate as we know of one man who did survive, but not what became of the rest of the section.
