Sergeant R. MacDonald
Biography
R Macdonald is believed to be Robert Macdonald, a plasterer who lived in the Gardeners Cottage at Castle Grounds. His father, Kenneth Macdonald, had been caretaker of Lews Castle. Robert eldest brother Donald, won the BEM serving as a carpenter in the merchant Navy during the war.
