Fife and Angus Scout Section

About

The Fife and Angus Scout Section is confirmed solely by a comment in the personal record of Scout Section Officer Tim Iredale. This says that he was appointed Scout Section Officer in Fife and Angus. Later his squad is reported to have become a Demonstration Squad travelling around the country. In an area like Fife and Angus two Scout Sections would be expected. The Royal Scouts Scout Section is thought to have been the other section in this area.

The Scout Section was made of Regular Army soldiers with a Lieutenant in command. Their role was train the Home Guard patrols, but also to go to ground themselves in the event of an invasion.

Operational Base

Most Scout Sections had at least two operational bases. Neither has been located for this Scout Section.
