"Parsnip" Patrol

Other information

Blean ("Pineapple"), Bridge ("Swede") and "Parsnip" Patrols were originally in a group code-named "Hop Group", under the command of Lieutenant Castier. When he resigned for medial reasons in Oct 1943, Pineapple was brought under the command of Lieutenant Gardner, Swede to Lieutenant Marchant and Parsnip was disbanded as many of the men had been called up, the remaining placed in other Patrols.

In a letter dated 1 Nov 1943 to Lieutenant Castier it appears Tolputt was in charge of the Patrol with other names mentioned being the Marsh' (implying 2 Mr Marsh) and Mr Duncan. We are unsure who these were at present but it seems to imply they may have stayed in Auxiliary Units but moved Patrols.
