Operational Base (OB)
The Operational Base was located near Woodside Farm on the Longside to Rora Road, approximately 1 mile north of Longside village. The area is now a field but used to be woodland. Nothing of the OB survives.
This OB is on private land. Please do not be tempted to trespass to see it
RAF Peterhead would be the main target, also railways and bridges in the area from possible landing beaches around St Fergus area.
Peterhead Patrol Leader Tom Catto, mentioned the Rora Patrol often to his son. These patrols were in close proximity and both close to Longside Airfield.
