Biography
Born in Kent to Francis and Jessie Winch. He married Mary Bailey in 1933 but she died in 1938.
William was the honorary secretary of the Ross Men's Hockey Club, a hobby he shared with John and Guy Sainsbury. The team created a arch of hockey sticks at his wedding. He had been a member of Ross Urban Council, founding member of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and secretary of the Agricultural Club. By his sudden death he was a partner of a local Estate Agents and Auctioneers.
In 1954 he married Margaret Burns.
