John was the father-in-law to William Southwould. The sons of William and Winifred, in 1911 he is with his two brothers Patrick and Harry in a 'Scattered Home' (a form of foster care home) in Eggerton Road, Plymouth. He married Lillian Warne in 1924. In 1939 he is in 61 High Street, Plymouth.
