It is recalled that Tom still had his explosives stored in the garden shed until the 1960's.

Tom was the driver of a motor-cycle which collided with a bus in 1932. It resulted in the death of his pillion passenger and Tom sustained a fractured left thigh.

The son of Arthur and Fanny he served in the Merchant Navy from 1918.
