              All Group Commanders originally signed up as Lieutenants in “H” Company of the 10th (Torbay) Battalion Home Guard before being recruited to Auxiliary Units.
Albert was promoted to a Lieutenant 1st February 1941 and again to Captain 26th April 1944.
In 1939 he was living at 2 Higher Polsham Road, Paignton with his wife Catherine and his family. He was a Member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and worked as a canine specialist.
The son of Walter and Edna he was born in Ashton Under Lyne in Lancashire. He married Catherine Hodgson in 1929 in Corwen, Wales.
