Biography

The son of Albert and Emily Ablitt he took over the family farm at Endfield which he ran with the help of his sisters Hilda and Amy. His date of birth is wrongly recorded as 1928 in the nominal roll which is most likely an admin error.

In March 2013, his First World War medals were auctioned, along with the Defence Medal he earned in the Second World War. Unusually he is not wearing any medal ribbons on his wartime Auxiliary Units uniform in his photo.
