The daughter of Albert and Jane (nee Inglis) she was born at Charlton, Kent, where he father was posted at the time - being regular Army his children were born in several different places including India. She married Alexander Harper in 1958 and died in Majorca.
In 1923/4 she was living in Devon, where she passed exams at Trinity College of Music, Torquay. In the 1939 Register she is in Bournemouth, her occupation is described as 'pianist'.
