Born in Broadhempston the son of Albion and Elizabeth of Catshayes Farm, he married Dorothy Davey who's family owned Logshayne Farm. Geoffrey Gibbins was his brother-in-law. They were both members of Coly Vale branch of the Junior Imperial League.
