Biography

The son of Neil Mackay and his wife, Mary Ann Will, his middle name was taken from his mother's maiden name. He worked at Brora Colliery along with most of the Patrol. On 20 Apr 1934 he married Catherine Ann Mackenzie of Badnellan. After the Colliery was closed then reopened, he became on of the working directors of the mine. He was active in the British Legion, serving on the committee, suggesting a period of military service. He was also a noted bird fancier after the war, winning numerous prizes with his cage birds.
