Born Cicely Clifton, she married Major Geoffrey Drake-Brockman (1905-1942), Royal Berkshire Regiment, Number 34231, formerly of Sherborne. He died in Cairo on 27 Feb 1942 by this time they had a young daughter.

She was one of the few ATS personnel interviewed by David Lampe for The Last Ditch, the first book to reveal the Auxiliary Units story
