Other information

Born in Kensington, London, in 1921 she is boarding with her sister Hermione and what appears to be their Tutor Miss Joan Courtenay and her family at Ivy Cottage, Stoke D'Abernon, Surrey. Shortly after, aged only 11 and 8 they travel, apparently alone, to Cape Town, South Africa. She lived there for 10 years with her mother and step father. In 1944 she staked a claim in a South African Diamond rush, which was an actual "running battle" to plant pegs around the chosen plot.

In 1939 she was an ARP Messenger and a Chauffer-Gardener for Marjorie Fass who she is buried with at St Mary the Virgin, Friston, Sussex.
