Born in 1917, Donald's father David was a Shepherd, and wife Charlotte.
In the 1921 Census, Donald (age 4) stayed with his parents and 2 other brothers and a sister at Downiemill near Monifeith.
On the 29th of October 1927 Donald and his father David were involved in a motorbike accident, Donald was in the side car (age 10).
Donald married Jane (Cunningham) 20 July 1943 in Erskine Church, Carnoustie. He was listed as an Electrical Engineer.
