              He married Beryl Austin in 1927. He died in Auckland, New Zealand having left their home in Bognor in 1952.
A WW1 veteran he joined the Sussex Yeomanry 9 Oct 1914 where he is recorded as a bank clerk and is 5 foot 7 inches tall. In March to April 1915 he spent 22 days in hospital with German Measles. He is later posted to the Royal Engineers as a motor cyclist and is finally awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal. He saw service in France and Egypt.
