Biography
The son of William and Alice he married Edith Isgar in 1930. His obituary states he had farmed at Wedmore all his life and in the past had been a bell ringer, clerk to the Parish Council a founding member of the Wedmore Farmer's Preserving Club and served on the Harvest Home Committee.
His brother Major Ernest John Banwell was awarded the MBE for service to the Home Guard.
