George was born to John And Barbara (Gunn), John was Gamekeeper on the 26th of May 1876.
George Murray, age 31 was a crofter and Married to Mary (Stewart) who was a Housekeeper on the 22nd of March 1904 in Rogart.
George served with the Lovat Scouts in the Boer War and WW1
They had a son Eric, however he passed away aged 8 Months in 1940
George was in the Sutherland Home Guard.
On the 6th of October 1944, in the John o'Groat Journal, it was reported that George's eldest son, Lachlan MacInnie, was killed in Action (Battle of Rimini - Italy). The article went on to say George served in two wars with the Lovat Scouts but was too old to serve when WW2 broke out, so he joined the Home Guard.
The other son, Donald Eric Francis Murray, died in a hospital in Edinburgh on the 27th of April 1946 due to a severe illness he contracted during the war. He was listed as a Gamekeeper and the entry in the register was signed by brother Alexander Murray.
George is buried with his family at St Mirren's (Cladh Maireannach) Burial Ground. He passed away at the age of 81 on the 1st of July 1956 at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The entry is sign by a John Murray - Son. There was at least one sister.
Also listed on the Family Stone is George Malcolm Murray, who passed away in 1982 age 67 and Alexander S Murray, age 75 who passed away in 1995. There is also another brother listed in 1946 when Donald died - James
