Gordon was the Sergeant of Madron Patrol. The son of Thomas and Bessie, he married Beatrice "Bunny" Tipler 3 June 1939.

Gordon Bolitho gave an interview on his Auxiliary Unit role which was printed 18th August 1998 in The Western Morning News. Details from this interview are included on the Madron Patrol.
Gordon was one of the few in the area that had a telephone during the war.
