The son of Arthur and Amy. It appears Arthur may have worked with Sergeant Percy Reed. In the 1950s he was on the committee of the Wells British Legion. He was a keen cricketer, a medium pace bowler at Wells Rangers Cricket Club.
He married Margaret Thomas in 1948.
