Signalman Hebden
Biography
Signalman Bill Bartholomew remembered being picked up from the train station by Hebden in his motorcycle and sidecar. "There was one mad chap, a despatch rider, who used to bring us in a motorcycle and sidecar, from the station to the Hall at Hundon. The mad motorcycle driver was Signalman Hebden. I remember arriving at Hundon or Haverhill Railway Station all of a tremble after an 80 MPH ride through the Suffolk lanes meeting the odd staff car at times".
