Biography
On 18 July 1931, he married Hanna Elsie Welch at St Peter’s Church, Southsea. The couple spent their honeymoon on the Isle of Wight. In Nov 1932, their first son Michael was born. On 20 Dec 1941, their second son was born, his mother staying with her parents at Buriton, Petersfield for the birth.
He had a long career as a Tax Inspector with Inland Revenue’s Portsmouth Office. On Monday 14 Feb 1944 he spoke with Gospirt’s Chamber of Trade to explain the new PAYE system being introduced.
