Biography
He was born in Velindre, Bulith.
In 1946 he was elected Councillor for the Ystradfellte constituency for Vaynor and Pendreyn Rural District Council, serving with them for 17 years. He was an active member of St John’s Church as a lay reader, vicar’s warden and Sunday school superintendent. He worked last at Cam Gears factory in Resolven.

Both Diplock and Hamer are recorded with the rank of Sergeant in the 1942 nominal roll. This may have been an error as at stand down Diplock is recorded as Sergeant and Hamer as Corporal.
