Known as Peter, Highwood was also the Assistant Group Commander of Group 2. 2nd Lieutenant from 4th June 1942, Lieutenant from 17th August 1944. Previously Sergeant of Goadhurst Patrol. He was awarded an aviators certificate (pilots licence) 4th March 1932 at Maidstone school of flight.
He is recorded as Herbert in some records (eg 1939 Register).
