Biography

The sons of James and Olive, Jim and Vic Hooper were brothers. Jim helped to build the OB as he was a bricklayer. " I lived in Bristol but I'd been courting out in Wellard. I knew the Captain and he asked me to join the Units. They were just digging out their base in the Estate woods. I was a builder so I was useful to them. There were about a dozen in the Unit. All the men were in their 20s or 30s, I was one of the younger ones at only 17 at the time."
