Biography

The daughter of Colonel E Chesney of the Indian Army and his wife Stella, in 1939 the family were living at The Hermitage, Maynards Gate, Rotherfield, Sussex although the family home was Inglis Road, Colchester where they frequently travelled to Bombay from during Joyce's childhood. The family moved to Australia in August 1952.

She seems to be recorded as both Joyce Hazel and Hazel Joyce in different records.
