The son of Frederick and Gertrude Taylor. He married Winifred B Wright in 1940.

Other information

Known as Roy, Taylor was the Assistant Group Commander of Group 4 Suffolk. In 1939 he was living at the family home of Grove Farm, Clopton which is still farmed by the Taylor family and is home to the 493 Bomb Group Museum.

The garden pond at his home, Hasketon Hall had lots of hand grenades disposed into and were found by his son when dredging.
