Career

Moore is believed to have been the Patrol Leader, as Stan Williams refers to him as Sergeant in his memoirs. He also reports than on exercises the Patrol would often have to approach his house in the dark by coming across the Down and fields.

His daughter recalls that ammunition was stored at their home. One night, bombs were dropped nearby. Moore, along with Brown, a regular solider billeted at the house who helped with training, shifted all of the stores the next day.

Moore is not recorded on Sergeant Buckett's list of Auxiliers in the Patrol, suggesting he left prior to July 1943, though this is not recorded in the nominal roll. He may have transferred to another Patrol or taken up a different duty.
