He married Marjorie Kate Larter 23 Dec 1916.
In Aug 1943 the wedding of Sergeant Warde's daughter Patricia to Mr Martyn Spalding, grandson of Alderman Fred Spalding JP was reported in the local papers. Of note was the wedding gift provided by the "officers, men and company of River House", which relates to the Auxiliary Units Headquarters at River Hose, Earls Colne.
