He was the son of Frank and Elizabeth Hill who worked for the Perry family in 1921. The 1939 Register has his year of birth recorded as 1908.
In later life he was also employed by the Perry family and he spoke to them of his time in Auxiliary Units. He is buried at Lawhitton.
