Biography
Rex Spiller ran the local garage but joined up and left Tom Hatcher to run it in his absence. He wanted to join the Forces himself, but was prevented as he was in a reserved occupation. His daughter, born in 1942, recalled seeing his dagger when she was very small. She referred to him as being in the Home Guard Commandos.
