William Charles Burgess was the 8th child of Edward James and Eliza Burgess (Nee Moore). He was born on 7th August 1901, he married Mary Ivy Pretty on 29 September 1934 at the Methodist Chapel Buriton Hampshire. He died suddenly from a heart attack after he had cycled home from work as a gardener. He was buried 5th July 1968.
