Basil became the Patrol Sergeant after Holland-Martin left from 15th August 1942. He knew many of the others from being in the National Farmers Union.

Other information
Basil Tasman kept a box for the self igniting phosphorus grenades after the war. He gave it to researcher Mick Wilks, who donated it to the Almonry Heritage Centre in Evesham for display.
