Other information

Cyril recalled both the Uplyme and the Axminster OBs so he may have been in both Patrols over time.

Cyril was friends with John Trott of Wyld Court, Hawkchurch, and Reg Wraxall from Moorside in Uplyme.

Cyril wasn't married at the time and spoke little of his time in Auxiliary Units in later years. He only told his wife, Greta (nee Pilton, married 1945), as she asked where he had got a shed load of explosives from, which he kept in jam jars. He wanted to create a new gateway into a field so used explosives to blow a gap in the hedgerow. Using a bit too much he and the children had to spend hours picking up debris from the lane.

He went to Coleshill and the family think he used family as a cover as had cousins living nearby.
