The son of John and Alice, Donald Power was managing director of Messrs A.E Power & Son Ltd., a provisions store in 68-9 High Street Taunton . He had married Stanley and Arthur White's sister Doris in 1932. In 1939 they were all registered at the same address at Staplegrove Mill.

In the Home Guard he was appointed Lance Corporal 20 Oct 1943. 2nd Lieutenant 1 Dec 1943. Awarded the Defence medal ribbon - 27 Aug 1946. Awarded the Defence medal 31 Oct 1949 and was granted honorary rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
