Biography
The son of John Mowat, he married Annie Dunnet on 20 Dec 1938. They were the first couple to marry in the new Canisbay UF Church. His son, John Robert Mowat, was born on 7 Sep 1940, meaning he almost certainly joined knowing his wife was pregnant.
Like other members of the Patrol, he shot for the Pentland Rifle Club. He had perfect scores at both 25 and 50 yards in the shoot on New Years Day 1940, missing out on the championship when he dropped shots at 100 yards.
