Biography

John, known as Jack, was the son of Sergeant James F Murray, the Patrol Leader. His two older brothers Willie Murray and Andrew Murray served in the Scots Guards and Seaforth Highlanders respectively.

After he war he moved to England, working as an official in the County Court of Middlesborough, Stockton and Hartlepool. In 1988 he was awarded the British Empire Medal along with a letter of congratulation from The Queen.

Career

Jack Murray left the Patrol and joined the RAF. He returned regularly on leave from Nov 1942 to Apr 1945, so presumably was posted in Britain.
