Biography

Born in Dover and baptised in Plymouth she was the daughter of Lieutenant Commander Robert D S Crosse, Paymaster in the Royal Navy, and his wife Juanita nee Styler. At the age of 5 she is in boarding school at The Knoll, Newton Abbot, Devon. Her father later remarries Annie Hill and the three are at The Carlton Hotel in Westminster in 1939 with Pamela recorded as a Woman's Royal Naval Service, Defensively Equipped Merchant Ships Secretary and living on her own private means.
