Other information

His form of enrolment for the Local Defence Volunteers shows he joined the then Home Guard 24 Feb 1941. Written on the top is "202 GHQ Aux Units" but this is then crossed out. He may have returned to the Home Guard as John Mennear had no recollection of him at all. The form shows he served until 24 April 1944 but this may have been in the Home Guard rather than Auxiliary Units.
