Robert enlisted 17 Dec1909 in 2nd East Anglian Field Ambulance. Served as Lieutenant 20456, he was mobilized Aug 1914 where he served in the British Expeditionary Force and at The Somme. He was awarded the 1914 Star, the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.
