Biography

Roger was discharged from Auxiliary Units to join His Majesty's Forces 18th February 1943. He went on to become a Commander in the Royal Navy. Towards the end of his career, Midgley was based at the Royal Naval Engineering College at Manadon in Wiltshire.

The son of Frederick and Caroline, his father was a teacher so would have been known to Group Commander Wellington.

Roger won a Olympic bronze medal for Hockey in the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games.
