Biography

Sinclair was the son of Sinclair Steven and Christina Manson. His eldest brother, Walter, serving with the Royal Naval Reserve on HMS Andes, sadly died of sickness on 20 Jan 1917. His youngest brother John and his father, also Sinclair, were lost at sea on their lobster boat in 1932. He remained on the farm with his mother. She died aged 76 on 4 Mar 1944.

Like the rest of the Patrol, he was a keen member of the spent land Rifle Club, a regular participant in their competitions and won their New Year championship in 1938.


In Jul 1942 he travelled to Thurso to give away his cousin Isabella Mackenzie, also from East End.
