Biography

A letter in an envelope addressed to Wilfred Newman was among papers kept by Bob Dewick, wireless operator at Bradwell on Sea. This was a Stand Down letter for Auxiliary Units and also the Declaration to be completed by Wilfred to confirm that he understood his obligations under the Official Secrets Act after the organisation ceased to exist.

He was a dairy farmer at Burnham Hall Farm and is recorded as an ARP Driver in the 1939 Register. He was quite successful showing his cattle both before and after the war.
